Maya Amos is a somatic relational psychotherapist, board-approved supervisor, consultant, and trainer for mental health professionals with over 15 years of clinical experience. She is certified in Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) and serves as a lead for the teaching team for SE trainings. Maya is also an approved provider of SE sessions and consultations at all SE levels of training.
Maya specializes in trauma resolution and nervous system regulation. She works with individuals and couples to identify and address how unprocessed emotions, past trauma, communication patterns, and unresolved relational dynamics manifest in the body and impact present-day life. Through fostering somatic awareness, Maya supports her clients in building deeper connections, navigating conflict, enhancing emotional regulation, and increasing intimacy. Her work helps people move from feeling stuck to living with greater flexibility, ease, connection, and choice.
In addition to her clinical practice, Maya offers clinical supervision, consultation, and training seminars on topics such as shock and developmental trauma, attachment injuries, somatic approaches to couples work, and Polyvagal Theory. She maintains a private practice in Austin, Texas.
